Hi, I’m Rozy!
Welcome to my website, “Rozy’s World,” where all things hospitality come together.
I’ve always been drawn to the way food, places, and hospitality shape how we experience life. Not just in the obvious ways, but in the small details that make something feel memorable: the atmosphere of a room, the way a meal is served, the feeling of being welcomed somewhere, or the energy of people gathered around a table. That passion led me to earn a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Leadership (and a minor in Beverage Management & Marketing), complete my Level 1 Sommelier certification, started an events & travel company, and finally create this website.
You may be wondering, what is hospitality, exactly? To me, hospitality is both a science and an artform. According to the dictionary it, “encompasses both the interpersonal feeling of making someone feel at home and the structured industry of providing services” (Merriam-Webster). Broadly, it’s all the industries of food & beverage, travel & tourism, recreation & entertainment, and meetings & events. Think restaurants, bars, hotels, spas, weddings, and everything in-between. It is deeply human.
The hospitality industry isn’t necessarily saving lives, at least not in the way a doctor or firefighter would, but it is still doing something very special and important. Like the arts, hospitality makes life worth living! It gives the soul a reason to smile. It makes moments feel especially memorable. And, it doesn’t have to be grand or expensive. It can be as simple as sharing stories around the dinner table or a cup of tea.
At Rozy’s World, I’m documenting my discoveries and everything new I learn along the way. From local Houstonian food reviews, tourism around the world, stories of how your favorite drinks came to be, and so much more, I hope this website will be both a resource and an escape for you. If you’re someone who is interested in taste, experiences and how hospitality shapes our lives, you’ve come to the right place.
Welcome to my world, where every table tells a story and and every gathering reminds us what it means to be human.
